We're thrilled to announce the winners of our AfroTech AI Hackathon! The level of talent and innovation on display was truly inspiring.
Check out the project gallery for a full list of winners and prizes. Since there were so many amazing projects, we've added the Honorable Mention and Runner Up Prize categories
1st Place - Anecdotal AI is a health management app designed to help people with chronic illnesses, particularly those from underrepresented communities. Inspired by the creator's personal experience with CIRS, the app offers features like symptom tracking, AI-powered analysis, environmental factor detection, and community connection. It aims to simplify complex medical information and provide support to users facing additional healthcare barriers.
2nd Place - Sickle Sense is an AI-powered health management app for individuals with Sickle Cell Disease. It offers personalized health plans, symptom tracking, wearable device integration, a virtual assistant, and a community forum. The app aims to empower users to take control of their health and improve their overall well-being.
3rd Place - Project Alabama aims to develop a proactive and adaptable anomaly detection system using multimodal LLMs to analyze diverse log data and detect insider threats early. By leveraging LLMs to learn the semantics and contexts of system logs, the project seeks to minimize false positives and protect organizations from potential cybersecurity risks.
